Grout lines are absorbent, U-shaped pockets of stains and unsightly stubborn mildew.
Preventive care and effective, gentle cleaning is the best way to ensure happy results and a clean look for years to come.
In simple terms, grout is hardened powder. As such, it is absorbent, porous, soft and chalky.
Many well-intended cleaning technicians will pour strong bleaching chemicals to bring back the color of the grout. What they don't realize is that they are helping to dissolve the grout, which will eventually show crack lines and ultimately, dislodge it from its guide.
Once grout has been dislodged, it is difficult to simply apply new grout on top. Grout must be filled and dried as a single piece. When repairs are made, the new grout material does not bond well to the original and many times it ends up cracking and separating once more.
For this reason, many grout professionals recommend replacing grout in bigger sections, which adds to the cost of repair.
4N Cleaning Services uses its own grout cleaning formula + procedure to be as gentle on grout as possible, while still achieving cleaning results.
No matter what method is used, cleaning grout always involves removing a very slight layer which, over time, will make the grout appear deeper into the grove.
The best way to prevent this wear and tear is to seal the grout with grout sealer.
Grout sealer will make cleaning easier for us, as well as preserving your grout longer... so you don't have to replace it as frequently. Our intention is that it lasts for as many years as possible.
